Utilizing talent and giving back to the community, May 1st

The next Student Clinic is May 1st!

The student clinic, a canine massage therapy clinic and outreach program sponsored by the Chicago School of Canine Massage (CSCM), is designed to give students and graduates the opportunity to use the skills they've learned in class in a real life  setting. It is staffed and operated by students and graduates with supervision by one of CSCM's lead instructors. Instructors will be present to support students through the process of a professional canine massage session, which includes a client intake and initial evaluation, client interaction and communication, and a variety of massage techniques. The student clinic will provide students an avenue to utilize their talents while giving back to the community as each month CSCM will showcase a rescue or shelter partner to which all profits from the clinic will benefit. The cost of a one hour evaluation and session in the student clinic is only $20.

May's rescue partner is the Anti-Cruelty Society! The Anti-Cruelty Society provides compassionate care for any animal in need while attempting to find a home for every healthy or rehabilitatable dog and cat that comes to them. They will intervene to prevent cruelty to animals and partner with the community to educate on animal issues and inspire compassion and respect. In addition, Anti-Cruelty society provides low or no cost spaying or neutering.

The Chicago School of Canine Massage will be volunteering at the upcoming May Bark in the Park fundraiser for the Anti-Cruelty Society. CSCM will have a large team of students, graduates, and instructors volunteering their time. Outreach events like Bark in the Park give students real-life, hands-on experience.  We will be providing 15 minute post-event sports massage sessions to all 4-legged participants. These sessions are crucial in helping animals recover from exercise, thereby preventing soreness and injury. Students also have the opportunity to share the benefits of massage with the community.
