Canine Massage 101

This 2 hour hands-on massage class will teach you how to give your dog a massage using basic techniques that are safe and effective.  This class includes instruction on preparing yourself and your dog for massage, reading your dog's body language, proper use of several massage techniques, and providing your dog with regular at-home assessment massages for health and wellness.

Puppy Handlingand Socialization

This 2 hour class is packed with information and teaches new pet parents the importance of low stress handling and communicating through touch while incorporating it into the puppy's socialization and training protocols. Skills learned will you help you understand and learn positive touch techniques and help your puppy understand from a young age that touch is good. Handling skills such as putting on collars, leashes, picking up and holding puppies along with teaching them to enter and exit rooms, crates and kennels will be discussed and demonstrated. Your puppy will gain the skills to accept different types of touch and become more comfortable in situations such as grooming, trips to the vet and interactions with strangers. This form of nonverbal communication is also great way to bond with your puppy and help in keeping them healthy from the very start!

Dog Safety and Handling for Kids

This class will introduce young children "and their parents" to the basic guidelines for safely interacting with the dogs they know, and politely meeting new or unfamiliar pets.  We will introduce the basics of approaching a dog, simple and appropriate touch and massage techniques that can help a dog feel more comfortable while building a bond between the two. Each attendee must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We have lots of fun incorporating visual learning through role playing and actual interaction with dogs.

Basic Sports Massage for the Active Dog

Whether or not your dog is a competitive agility dog, participates in various sports, or just likes to play, sports massage can help improve your dogs' performance, reduce the chances of injury, relieve muscle soreness and maintain good range of motion. Basic sports massage techniques will be taught, as will gait observation skills along with recognizing signs of discomfort and/or pain. In many cases early intervention is the key to preventing serious injury. This class will help you help your dog to continue his or her active lifestyle and keep moving and boy does it make them feel good!

Canine Communication

Dogs use body language to communicate with each other and with humans. Those who love dogs but don't understand their language can send the wrong signals even with the best intentions. This class will help you to understand what your dog and other dogs are actually communicating. Learning dog speak will not only strengthen your relationship with your dog but help you interact with all dogs in general.
